Parent guide
OWNA is the app we use to share daily updates, attendance, forms and statements with your family. Here's where to find the things you'll use most.
To keep things simple, this guide only covers the tasks our families use day to day — signing in at the centre, attendances, medication, payments and keeping your details up to date.
Start here
The kiosk at our entrance runs in Public Mode, so any family can sign their own children in and out on the shared device.
Step 1 — Enter your PIN
Enter your unique PIN by pressing on the field, then use the device's on-screen keypad.
Press Sign In/Out to proceed to the next screen.

Step 2 — Sign children in/out
Select the child(ren) you wish to sign in/out using the checkbox next to their name(s).
Enter any comments. Some services may also have fields to enter an estimated pickup time, sunscreen application or medication details.
Click Sign In/Out.
If you have forgotten to sign your child out previously, you may be prompted to confirm this first before you proceed. This needs to be signed for each child.

Everything else
If your child will not be attending, please let us know through the OWNA app as soon as possible.
To mark an absence
Please note: recording an absence in the app does not automatically mean Child Care Subsidy will be payable. CCS eligibility for absences is determined by Services Australia.
If your service accepts casual bookings through OWNA, you can request an additional day directly from the app.
To request a casual booking
Your request will be sent to the service for approval. Once processed, you'll receive a notification advising whether the booking has been approved or declined.
Please note: casual bookings are subject to availability and educator-to-child ratios, and a booking is not confirmed until you receive approval from the service through the OWNA app.
Invite another parent, grandparent or authorised person to access your child's information. This can only be done by the main guardian on the account.
To invite someone
If they've been given sign-in permissions, they'll be able to create their own PIN after accepting the invitation (this feature may be disabled by your service).
Use this section to view your child's attendance history and, if enabled by the service, sign your child in or out from your own device or book casual days.
To view attendance history
Complete a medication record before bringing medication to the service.
To create a medication record
Important: please hand the medication directly to an educator when you arrive. Never leave medication in your child's bag.
Use this when medication needs to be administered over multiple days.
To add an ongoing medication
Examples include antibiotics, prescription creams, and short-term asthma treatment prescribed for a specific period.
This should not be used for permanent medical management plans such as routine asthma, anaphylaxis or epilepsy management plans.
Your PIN is used when signing your child in or out using the Public Mode kiosk.
To change your PIN
Your new PIN can be used immediately.
Update the bank account or card used for direct debit.
To update payment details
Any updates are securely sent to the service.
Please speak with your focus group educator or contact the office — we're always happy to walk you through the app.
