Everlearn Preschool Prestons is situated in South West Sydney and is part of the Liverpool City Council government area.
Prestons is well known to be a multicultural suburb with the latest Census results showing that the most common languages spoken in homes are Hindi, Arabic and Spanish. We proudly welcome families from all walks of life and delight in seeing the children of our preschool sharing the cultures with each other every day.
We believe it is the quality of the relationships and connections that bind people together. This is why at Everlearn we encourage our families to get involved in our program and invite external parties into our centre to ensure we are offering the best development opportunities for the children.
We regularly invite local community members into our preschool to talk to the children and families about their roles and provide an insight into the impact of their work. To date, children have enjoyed visits from Indigenous leaders, local firefighters, police officers, nurses, vets, builders, and other professionals. We have also enjoyed talks from parents of multicultural backgrounds to help the children explore their sense of identity and culture.
According to the National Quality Standard Professional Learning Program “As early childhood educators, creating a “sense of community” is an important part of what we do. It is integral to the core themes of belonging and identity that are highlighted throughout the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)”.
At Everlearn we believe that a Community is more than just a location, or a collection of individuals who happen to work or live together in the same place. “For many families an early childhood setting is usually the first contact with a wider community beyond the home. Because of this our service acts as an important point of connection for families. We like to foster supportive relationships between families as well as connecting families to services in the local community.”
