Staying COVID Safe in 2021

At Everlearn we are committed to maintaining the health and safety of all the children and families in our community. When it comes to keeping our preschools COVID Safe we take every precaution.

If you are in doubt about whether or not your child is able to attend please feel free to call or email us any time for advice. In simple terms we are required to exclude students and staff with even mild symptoms of COVID-19.

These symptoms include:

fever (37.5 ° or higher)
cough
sore throat
shortness of breath (difficulty breathing)
runny nose
loss of taste
loss of smell.

Other reported symptoms include:

fatigue
acute blocked nosed (congestion)
muscle pain
joint pain
headache
diarrhoea
nausea/vomiting
loss of appetite.

Unexplained chest pain and conjunctivitis have also been reported as symptoms of COVID-19. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia with severe acute respiratory distress.

We are required to “prohibit return to preschool for anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 until a negative COVID test result has been provided. In circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms a letter from the GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test.”

What do I need to do before my child returns to preschool?

Any child who has experienced any of the symptoms above must get a COVID test prior to returning to Everlearn. Fortunately, most testing centres are returning results in under 24 hours so we recommend getting tested as soon as symptoms present to avoid an extended exclusion from care.

Once you receive your child’s test results these will either need to be emailed or shown to the office.
